New on Kindle: Text-Based Adventures "Choice of Broadsides" and "Choice of the Dragon" from Choice of Games

Choice of the Dragon Choice of Broadsides and Choice of the Dragon are two new text-based adventures for Kindle where your choices control the story. This unique approach to interactive fiction allows larger, deeper and richer stories than traditional gamebooks.

In Choice of Broadsides you are a young and promising naval officer. Will you become an admiral, or will you be court-martialed? When on shore, will you marry for love or for career advantage, or will you leave aside romance and spend your time gambling and dueling? The choice is up to you.

In Choice of the Dragon, you'll get to choose which action your dragon will take next. Choose between Brutality or Finesse, Cunning or Honor, Disdain or Vigilance. Or just try to gather as much wealth as you can!

Will you discover all of the hidden endings?

For a limited time, you can order the two text-based adventures Choice of the Dragon and Choice of Broadsides for just $0.99 each (offer ends January 31).

Grr... not available in Canada!

Next they'll be releasing Lynx for Kindle :D

You're in a dark library, of dead and decaying volumes.

A calendar on the wall reads, 2015.

Three years of dust has accumulated on the floor.

You see a single trail of footprints, turning left at the corner ahead.

I remember a similar text based adventure game based on David Drake's Hammer's Slammers series but that was over 20 years ago.

I'm a little confused. Is this representative of a text adventure (player enters verb-noun commands, such as "GO NORTH" or "DRINK POTION", and the game parses these commands and modifies the environment accordingly), or is this a choose-your-own-adventure game (which offers the player a series of branching choices, such as "Do you wish to fight the pirate?" or "Would you prefer to run away instead?").

When are you going to release the SDK for general use? A year has gone by and now I'm reading about a concept that I had a year ago.

Amazon is squandering the opportunity to open up content for sub $189/139 tablet that should be eating the ipad's lunch. Instead, we get scrabble and lame entries from EA games.

Brilliantly stupid.
